  • 2 pounds potatoes thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped

Cooking Instructions
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk and cook until slightly thickened.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper.
  6. Arrange a layer of sliced potatoes in a baking dish.
  7. Pour some of the sauce over the potatoes and sprinkle with cheese.
  8. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  10. Remove foil and bake for 15 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Sprinkle with parsley before serving.
