Jalapeño pepper jam brings sweet and spicy flavors together in a colorful spread that can transform even the simplest snack. Fresh jalapeños provide a lively pepper flavor, while sugar and vinegar create the classic sweet-tangy balance.
The peppers soften as they cook, creating a glossy jam with just enough heat to keep every bite interesting. You can control the spice level by removing the jalapeño seeds for a milder jam or leaving some in for extra heat.
Serve it with cream cheese and crackers, spread it on sandwiches or grilled cheese, or use a spoonful to add sweet heat to roasted vegetables. It also makes a flavorful homemade addition to an appetizer board.

Notes
Removing the seeds and inner membranes produces a milder pepper jam. Leave some in if you prefer more heat.
The jam will continue to thicken as it cools in the refrigerator.
Different pectin products can require different amounts of sugar and cooking times, so follow the package instructions for the specific pectin you use.
This recipe is intended as a refrigerator jam, not a shelf-stable canned preserve.
Serve with cream cheese and crackers, grilled cheese, sandwiches, or roasted vegetables.
