- Peel plantains and cut into 1-inch slices.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Fry plantain slices for 3 4 minutes per side until lightly golden.
- Remove and drain briefly on paper towels.
- Flatten each slice using a tostonera, glass, or plate.
- Return flattened plantains to hot oil and fry again for 2 3 minutes per side until crisp and golden.
- Remove, drain, and season with salt while hot.
- Serve immediately.
