  • 4 large portobello mushroom caps stems removed
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 4 burger buns
  • Lettuce tomato slices, onion
  • Cheese optional: mozzarella, provolone, or vegan cheese
  • Condiments of choice

Cooking Instructions
 

  1. Wipe mushroom caps clean with a damp cloth.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  3. Brush both sides of mushrooms generously with marinade.
  4. Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium heat.
  5. Cook mushrooms for 5-7 minutes per side, until tender and juicy.
  6. Add cheese during the last minute of cooking if using.
  7. Toast buns lightly if desired.
  8. Assemble burgers with mushrooms and favorite toppings. Serve warm.
