  1. Divide the red bean paste into 8 equal portions and roll into balls.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, mix rice flour, water, sugar, and salt until smooth.
  3. Cover loosely and microwave for 1 minute.
  4. Stir and microwave again for 1 minute.
  5. Stir once more and microwave for another 30-60 seconds until the dough becomes thick and translucent.
  6. Dust a clean surface generously with cornstarch.
  7. Transfer the warm mochi dough onto the surface.
  8. Divide into 8 portions and flatten each into a circle.
  9. Place a red bean paste ball in the center and wrap the dough around it, sealing the edges.
  10. Shape gently into a smooth round cake and serve.
