  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons ground pistachios

Cooking Instructions
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, and lemon juice.
  3. Simmer for 10 minutes, then add vanilla and cool.
  4. Brush a baking dish with melted butter.
  5. Layer phyllo sheets, brushing each with butter.
  6. Add a layer of chopped pistachios.
  7. Repeat layers until ingredients are used.
  8. Cut into squares before baking.
  9. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden.
